Coach John played soccer at the University of Redlands where he studied Global Business, Spanish, and Environmental Studies. During his time there, John won the Schroeder Scholarship that supported an 8-week intensive Spanish study program in Seville, Spain. Sevilla FC was dominating the Europa League during that time and he was able to attend the 2016 3-peat celebration parade in the city. He loved the European culture and their admiration for soccer so much that he went back the following year for a 6-month study program in Florence, Italy. During both trips, he was able to attend multiple high level soccer matches including Premier League, Champions League, and Euro 2016 games. Among many games, he toured 20+ stadiums and museums throughout Europe. 

Playing soccer at a high level his entire career plus European experiences helped mold John into the fan and coach that he is today. After obtaining his B.S in Global Business in 2018, he proceeded to further his education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Western Governors University in 2021. Since completing undergrad in 2018, John has been working full time as at UPS and coaching soccer throughout Portland, OR. Soccer is one of his biggest passions-  playing, watching, and coaching!
